As for OP, the Japanese figures are obviously of the Kaiyodo variety (see HGSS, Platinum bonuses) and we may see them again in some TCG product. The European ones look more like Tomy sculpts with bases. Both sets have their appeal
and being in the US, I'll get neither. ;-;
