Pretty much this. Mega Evolutions make the game a joke. It's like using legendaries against them. They don't have items or strategy or good Pokemon for that matter. The poor NPC's have no chance of winning and it doesn't feel fun steamrolling them.

i recently replayed Platinum and i beat Cynthia with my team around lvl 50, i tough it would kick my ass but damn once you start knowing about competitive battling and all that stuff there's no way the main story can be diffucult anymore...
