so at this point, even Fire Red and Leaf Green are outdated. HGSS still holds up fairly well, and there's not much in setting sights on a Sinnoh remake so soon, so why not do something else for the next series of remakes?

Pokemon Red/Blue/Green 2

You return to Kanto, but instead of playing as Red or Leaf again, they make like B2W2 and play as a new protagonist several years later. Much like those two games, you could start with two new gyms in new areas of Kanto before taking a boat to Vermillion City.

Other ideas:

>Professor is Green/Blue, having retired from being a gym leader and following in his grandfather's footsteps
>Final gym is located in Pallet CITY instead of Viridian City
>Cinnibar has finally been rebuilt
>Sabrina has taken a sabbatical (you can fight her later), and there's now a Fighting-type gym in Saffron
>at no point whatsoever do you meet, battle, or even hear someone talk about Red
>Celadon is host of the new World Tournament
>New Battle facility in Saffron called Battle Mall, large facility run by Silph Co., with shopping and features themed around various challenges and features linked to one's friendlist and people you've traded with; think of a combination of the Battle Frontier and Join Avenue
