Hey guys, I can't read Japanese, but I think this video confirms the return of customization. Some of the people in the base are NPCs, but the character who is acting as the gym leader is clearly the player's model.

Looks like the Rich Boy NPC to me.

NPCs being used to represent a different player than you has been around for a long time. That's most likely the case here.

It could be, but its not like gamefreak has confirmed customization is out and it would make sense that they haven't shown it in videos. They barely showed it when xy was coming out.

This is clearly Brendan's base model being used to place your gym leader's location. This confirms the pictured gym leaser is the player's character. It would make sense that it is only the customized appearance outside of editing mode so they only need to use one model there.

It is clearly not >>20842870 this model

In this picture the backpack is clearly green, not yellow. I'm not sure that means much, because there is some green on the yellow one, but it does look a lot more green.

That wasn't actually in there. It literally just translates to "Here match double battle!" I assumed from the way it was stated that it's saying that a double battle match NPC has been placed where the player chose. Generally whenever someone writes something [in brackets] when translating, it means that it's implied, but not specifically said in the text.

Well this was my theory /vp/, not sure it holds up at all, and there is a chance you can just customize the appearance of your secret base npcs.

Still I would be pretty mad if they ignored character customization in this game, but it depends on how good the gym leader feature is.

I guess this is just another unconfirmed myth, but the evidence looks promising.

They might not be sure enough of it yet to announce it.
