I caught a Zubat way back in Silver because its sprite looked a lot more appealing, and Bite was super cool. It was exciting to use a Dark type move. He evolved into Golbat fighting the trainers in Morty's gym, and then into Crobat one level later. I must have maxed his happiness from all the exploring. He kicked Morty's ass and became my strongest and most reliable Pokemon for a while.

Years later, I entered an official tournament in the HGSS days. I had a Crobat named Squibbles on my team. I was up against a Lugia and a Mewtwo, two against one, in a double battle. Against all odds, Squibbles beat the shit out of them. That's when Crobat became my favorite Pokemon of all time.

I trolled so many Sharpedos and sheer force Azumarills

Switching surprise when you predict a physical move, and seeing "connection interrupted" right after

The 3D disappointed me because in BW/B2W2 he used to close/open during the fight with the face plate sliding.

And even with sleep status he keeps his eyes open and the face can be seen...

I would have loved a Mega that would be like Aegislash except it would change his stats

Open: special def

So disappointed with 3D...

Ever since I was a kid and saw Vulpix and Ninetales, they were my favorites. I didn't know a thing about Japanese folklore and thus had no idea that nine tailed foxes were a thing there, but I sure as hell loved the design of Ninetales. It was not only pretty but also of my favourite type. Maaaany years later, Ninetales is still my bro/sis and I use a shiny Drought Ninetales in the Maison.

Easily Wartortle. My first starter. I kept him from evolving into Blastoise because I really liked his ears/tail, and knew he would lose them. Hyper-leveled him to make him strong enough keep up back then, but thanks to eviolite, he can actually be a contributing member of the team, now.

I also have a thing for Butterfree, and by extension any butterfly/moth-inspired Pokemon with expansive moveset options. It's impressive how well Butterfree can wreck everything for the first half of Kanto.

True story.
Turn 1: Squibbles confuses Mewtwo, Mewtwo hurts itself, Lugia uses Extrasensory. Squibbles heals with Black Sludge.
Turn 2: Squibbles confuses Lugia, Mewtwo hurts itself, Lugia hurts itself. Black Sludge.
Turn 3: Squibbles Bites Mewtwo, Mewtwo flinches, Lugia uses Extrasensory. Red health, Black Sludge.
Turn 4: Squibbles Bites Mewtwo, Mewtwo faints, Lugia hurts itself.

Then Lugia either flinched or hurt itself until it fainted too. It was the luckiest damn thing I'd ever seen.
