That said, every time I see Geomancy or Shell Smash, with the latter on anything, I feel frustrated. This is in random matches though. I don't give a fuck on normal ladders.

There's nothing to like about them. Their designs are horrendous unless you shelled out money for DLC to get alternate forms, which is just more reason to hate them.

Their sole purpose is to be way too strong, and they've accomplished that. Thundurus is the worst offender.

Their "therian" formes are honestly even more atrocious than the normal ones. They may not be near-identical but they just look bad.

The only credit I give them is that they remind me of Dragon Warrior. Kind of.
But yeah, I've been using Landorus on my monotype ground team and whenever he bowls a team over I get a bad taste in my mouth. I'd use something else but special-based Ground types are pretty much non-existent.

I remember raging so hard at all the goddamn Hikers with Bronzor in Diamon/Pearl. Combined with their fucking abilities, and the painful lack of Fire-type Pokemon, they were so damn annoying.

Just replayed Platinum, and specifically brought along a Rampardos with Mold Breaker and Earthquake to fuck each and every Bronzor I met. It was almost cathartic.

Those are your opinions, though. You can say "they objectively look like shit," or, as was said, "their sole purpose is to be too strong," but someone could find something appealing. Maybe they ENJOY things with too much power and find that likable, or perhaps liked the aspect of weather synergy they had. Maybe they are found conceptually appealing as deities of various elements of the planet, or even the "inquisitive judge" expression they have is an enjoyable element.

I remember an old flash game called Merlin's Revenge. You played as a little blue wizard and shot magic blasts at enemies. Pretty fun. There were cheat keys though, like pressing 'K' to instantly kill everything on the screen, or 'M' to get a free health pack. Those keys were part of the game, they're there on purpose, and they certainly make the game easier, but what's the point of playing if you're gonna do things the easiest possible way with no challenge?

I just hate their designs really. I use Mega T-Tar even though I think regular looks infinitely better, just because there's no reason not to on my team. So yes, I sometimes use things for their stats, but the genies are ugly as sin. They literally gross me out.

There is always the "well they game Garchomp and Lucario megas" argument, but bad game design does not excuse MORE bad game design.

There is just no fucking reason for these things to exist in a competitive field aside from the fact that they practically guarantee a win against any team that doesn't specifically counter them.

If that is not centralizing then I don't know what is.

This is going to sound really out of place in this rage thread for competitive moves. The move that irks me the most since I was a kid is double slap.

I hate that it is wrongly named as it hits more then twice, I hate the sound it made in the earlier games and I hate how long it takes for the damn animation to go through in pretty much every game.

I also hate how the RNG gods spite me when I am going through a nuzlocke and the opponent crit like mad on a fucking doubleslap.

So damn irksome.

Special Nidoking or Nidoqueen with Sheer Force get the job done and are immune to toxic, so they're slightly harder to wall. I tried that instead of Landorus. Not quite as much raw power, but they have their advantages.

I don't quite run a stall team, but it definately has that opening strategy of whittling them down while preventing damage, and then cleaning up with Hydreigon or Gengar

a while back i was wondering just how hard scarf nidoking hit and compared it to scarf hydreigon since i was considering it for vgc. with max investment modest hydreigon hits 194 sp. atk while nidoking hits 150 sp. atk, which is equivalent to 195 after the sheer force boost. meanwhile, nidoqueen hits 139, or 180 after the sheer force boost, while salamence hits 178

tl;dr sheer force is some shit

I've never used them, even though I actually caught a Naive Thundurus with perfect Speed in White. I tend to run a lot of Pokemon that either don't mind Paralysis or aren't affected by Thunder Wave. That, and Mamoswine.
