Secret basses and contests added nothing to my play through ruby/emerald because I didn't ever want to uses them, and didn't miss them when they were gone.
The awful designs for whatever their names are is half the reason I'm not buying oras.
Not saying I'm surprised that the best yet "bonus feature" has been cut, just saying I don't have any incentive to buy the game now. (as in, "hoenn might look like I train wreak but at least I don't have too" is something I cannot say anymore)
