Because people refuse to carry Taunt, or Roar, or stat-wiping moves, or anything with Unaware, so Smogon said "this is too hard" and nerfed Baton Pass further so they wouldn't have to see it.

And then Denisss made a Baton Pass team with just one passer and got to the top of the ladder again, though I haven't heard much of that since so maybe Smogon realized they were going full retard with nerfing Baton Pass just because one guy knew how to make a team with it.

I tried laddering with that Denisss copypaste and I didn't do that well with it, so I'm pretty sure it's the player and not the team who rode that so far, since it requires a lot of prediction.

This is very, very old news, and possibly not news at all, but I heard at one point, the guy who manages UU was banning literally anything that could carry it's own weight in battle, and then slowly unbanning things as time went on. That includes moves. Or at least he planned to.

At one point I believe Scald, Knock Off, Sneaky pebbles, and Toxic Spikes (and Toxic itself possibly) were being debated on whether or not to be banned.

The trick is to not copy/paste entire teams from some site. If you actually make a team yourself, keeping in mind what you might be weak to, you don't need multiple pokemon to counter one.

Technically you can taunt a Magic Bouncer with Mega-Absol since it would double bounce.

Not that I'm saying that's in any way a counter, just arguing technicalities.

No it wouldn't

The only way of dealing with MB is by killing it, sometimes difficult at whatever +def boosts, or using Mold Breaker taunt and most users of it are shit outside of Haxorus (outclassed in OU though) and MegaGyarados

Perish Song doesn't have any great users of it though, the only one I'm thinking of right now is Azumarill but it forces you out of using AssVest and makes you lose a moveslot in BD and CB sets.

I get why Quagsire can't stop BP chains, and I get why nobody uses Bug Buzz Volcarona in OU anymore fucking Talonflame ruining bug types, but I don't get why people didn't try running Infiltrator Chandelure or literally any Ghost type with Curse?

Bellydrum is easily revenged with Talonflame who just needs to switch in on the turn you setup. Common Banded sets don't even care if you have Sitrus or not.

Assault Vest allows it to act like a pivot the way Banded Azu acted in Gen 5. It gets it great special bulk (given its 100/80/80 defenses), allowing you to take on Rotom-Wash, and survive what would otherwise be OHKOs from things like Thundurus or M-Manectric.
Its lack of damage boosting item is ameliorated by being able to use and switch to priority (ex. if Play Rough does ~70 damage, Aqua Jet does ~30 = mon is dead in effectively one turn if they don't have priority).

It's a perfectly legitimate threat that doesn't need a free turn to be effective.

Harvest Sitrus Trevenant is the only viable user of Curse, and it struggled really hard to stay relevant in OU. So much so that it isn't OU anymore, but I guess if you're so set on having a BP counter, it exists (though you're much better off running Perish Song which at least has viable users).

The only bans that ever help HO instead of hurting it are the things that are so borked that they shit all over everything regardless of playstyle, like Mega-Milf.

And most of those still hurt HO because offensive teams loved being able to run broken shit that steamrolled everything.
