I fucking love Aegislash. The design looks great, in that it looks like a Ghost type and a Steel type, it's not overly designed, ornamental, or garish, it has a two-tone color scheme that's aesthetically pleasing, and its animations are awesome. Just look at the way it holds its shield, then jumps in and out of it when switching formes.
The best part is that you can tell that GameFreak put a lot of effort into designing Aegislash, and making it work. It's top OU, it's powerful, and it tells me that they really do pay attention to the singles metagame.
I mean, look at the other few forme-changing mons that GF has created. Zen Mode Darmanitan. Meloetta. Castform They've crashed and burned, and don't work at all.
They succeeded this time, and I think it's pretty commendable. Smogonsword best sword.
