As far as a new comprehensive rule is concerned, the consensus is that it'd either be ineffective (like the TM rule), too verbose for the OP and showderp in general. A fair amount of Showderpers didn't like champion discretion rules; if the rule was "Champ only needs to take one obvious shitmon", the argument goes is that they'd also reject "bad" suggestions that aren't really shitmon, like NFEs or donnels. Personally, I think that argument is a slippery slope and champs would generally not abuse that rule (and if they did, we'd fall back on calling them a faggot or w/e), but my view is more from the champ side than the spectator side.

Incidentially, I tried to intentionally skipping shitmons at one point in a particularly bad week. It led to a shitstorm that had aftershocks a week after.
