Marrowak are exceptionally competitive Pokemon and this prevents them from being "good parents" so as opposed to raising them, themselves they will lay their eggs in massive nesting sights where they will ritually go to die. When their offspring hatch they band together and wear the bones of their long since deceased ancestors for self defense and to help them hunt at such a young age. The offspring largely raise themselves, but keep in touch with their siblings and others across vast distances by howling.. this has lead to many "mournful" myths.
