shit story and writing. I don't know if fanfiction tiered writing or this reddit writing is worse. gameplay is good. literally every pokemon to choose from. it also puts up a good challenge if you're careless. the 8th gym leader is actually pretty damn difficult. battle frontier equivalent at the end

I played up to the 6th gym and stopped a little while after that.
There was some big mountain thing that took hours to get through and I still wasn't at the top, so I started getting bored and it turned me away.

I might go back and play some more of it though, it was pretty good for a fan-made game.
Most pokemon fan games are garbage, but this was actually playable.

And it seemed a bit more challenging, not super hardcore or anything, but I actually had trouble in some spots which was nice.

It's not that bad. I'm pretty sure you can use an Xbox controller if you wanted. Frame rate might be a bit shit at times.

I nuzlocked this game untill the E4 with only a few casualties and then a massivle bug wiped out all my mons, as we're speaking I'm playing through it again with some bros.
Story is mediocre at best but I care much for gameplay and it's gud

Nah not really, it's like gen 1's story in which you just have random story segments scattered around the game, I haven't played the second region so I don't know if it gets better/worse there (I know there's new megas and shit so that sounds cool)
It also has a few fun features like some really simple sidequests and minigames that you can do just to kill time, preety fun.

If you are installing for the first time the just download and extract the game folder to somewhere and click the game file. Also, the patch files are only used on older copies of the game.

Is this zeta or omicron because it says in the reddit page the zeta download is screwed up.
If you really want zeta instead of omicron search the 1.4.9 core and patch to 1.4.10 or just play 1.4.9 because there isn't that big of a diference.

One thing I can say I like about Zeta and Omicron is how customizable it is. Default might look like shit but it looks pretty fucking nice after getting some Sprite Packs and shit.

Even though the X and Y gifs are pretty ugly in Showdown and in general they're better than the sprites.

I stopped playing when Shaymin got kidnapped out of the blue after the second gym and then N showed up. I mean I don't hate N but that just isn't necessary. I got enough of that 'let's shoehorn legendaries and cameos into the story' shit playing Light Platinum.

It's not all that. Pokemon Reborn has way better writing, better level design, and more to it than Zeta Omicron.

Zeta Omicron needs a lot of polish, sure, try it out but I'd much rather wait for Sage and Reborn to get finished.

Downloaded it a while ago, didn't bother playing for more than fifteen minutes since I didn't care for starter selection (I like the three Pokémon offered, but I don't think they're starter-tier), felt the protagonist looked a bit edgy (I hear you can change your sprite to something else later but damned if I was going to play that far just for that), don't care for the aesthetics of the Gen they based the overworld off of, and the rival constantly said "swag" which really made me not feel like playing it since I had just finished enduring the unintentionally annoying rivals in XY and didn't feel like enduring a deliberately annoying one. All minor things and I'm not going to judge the gameplay itself off them, but it made me feel like I'd have more fun with something else.

A friend really got into it, though, and told me they thought it was better than any of the canon games, though that friend is a bit casual so take their opinion with a grain of salt.
