>>20865428Not him but Charizard stopped getting spotlight for a long time. He got on the cover of Red and was Ash's pokemon but for 4 generations, he didn't get much focus. He got brought back in the anime to lose to Blaziken and win against Articuno I guess. Also returned to BW for a while but then again, BW. It still managed to remain popular.
They only recently went full pandering with it. Like holy shit, even I'm surprised how much attention it recently got. 2 megas, TCG, figures, a tournament with it as focus, origins where it was allowed to beat Mewtwo, anime special, appearance in mangas, Smash, part of the worlds logo with Pikachu in the middle. I won't be surprised if it becomes Ash's mega too.
