What you're basically telling me is:
1. There should be some advantage to having a shiny Pokemon
2. The advantage should be small enough to be negligible
3. Without this negligible advantage, shiny Pokemon are worthless
You're also missing the concept that people at the top tables always want to use what's best. There is no boost so tiny it won't make a difference, since every advantage counts in competitive. You don't see kids playing without perfect IVs unless there's an advantage to using imperfect IVs.
I understand your emotion of wishing a shiny Pokemon was more useful, but practically it wouldn't work out well.
