A choice banded extreme speed dragonite is much better than salamence. However, I'm pretty sure salamence will get extreme speed in ORAS so that's sort of invalid

Metagross is best Pseudo because he looks damn cool and can run a mixed moveset. Dragonite and Garchomp would be better, but they both look like ass and have x4 weaknesses (to ice), which Metagross has none.

Choosing to nerf steel in that exact way even though it was probably done to keep Aegislash from being too broken makes it seem like GameFreak specifically has it out for Metagross.
The explosion nerf in Gen 5 didn't help, either.
