Make no mistake: the immediate response to someone saying they have a high score is to accuse them of using a cookie cutter team. It's only impressive if you're doing something slightly different and still manage to get relatively high.
Hell, look at that one guy vp is always going on about. Dennis, I think it was. Basically keeps leading the way by breaking the game with baton pass even as it becomes increasingly banned. Sure, a lot of people copy him so the teams eventually becomes cookie cutter themselves, but that's just how it goes. He just keeps making newer ones when he has to. That's how games like this work.
I suggest, as disgusting as you might find it, dropping into showderp every now and again. Sometimes its really fucking stupid, but there's occasional flashes of entertainment when they manage to hit upon some weird thing that works.
