Yeah I feel Sugi has lost some of his touch. All three new megas look bad imho. Sure it's badass to have a mega gallade but I've seen fan made ones look better than this.

The proportions on Wally are really the only thing that bothers me. Hands and feet look ridiculously huge, compared to the rest of his body. I know he's supposed to be lanky and kind of frail, but this version sort of rubs me the wrong way.

Mega Gallade feels kind of unnecessary, but I'm looking forward to seeing how he plays.

You know Sugimori isn't the only one to design pokemon and characters, right?

And if you're referring to that picture in particular, those aren't their official artworks. You can see Mega Gallade's official art above that one, but it was cut off from the picture.

Not to mention it seems to be a different artist given the artstyle (proportions, shading, outlines, etc). Probably the same who did Steven and Metagross in a previous corocoro scan.

This guy is right. And I bet the designs by Sugi are less and less with every new game. It's almost as if his job if just to approve designs by other people and draw some final pieces. You can tell there are some characters that are drawn by him but don't look designed by him.

I honestly don't understand why everyone is whining over M-Sharpedo when this shit is so much worse.

Like, yeah, Sharpedo has some ugly yellow stripes on it, at least it actually changes in a practical way (elongates into more of a torpedo shape, spikes pop out of nose when attacking for dommage)

Gallade just gets a bit bigger, loses some colour and gets a cape. So fuckin' underwhelming, considering Gardevoir gets a massive prominent ballgown.

I don't think so. He has 4 generations of nice designs or at least they're likable. But yeah, if you count the newer games I'd say they don't even compete with the older ones.
