Alright, honest question here: would bug/dragon really be the great typing people insist it would be? I'm not asking for "OMG it suxxx" or "OMG u suck bug/dragon rapes everything ever" I genuinely want to know what advantages bug/dragon has over the current typing.

I used a Flygon and Jolteon for the Battle Frontier, and came to appreciate both of them during my time using them.
I never caught a Trapinch in my original Ruby run, nor do I even remember what Pokemon I used in that.

so its a steel dragon with the ability levitate.(levitate is great in team battles it will dodge your partners earthquake.
give it bullet punch.(it already has fire and thunder punch)
it already had iron tail/steel wing.

Water 3 is generally for marine invertebrates and extinct sea creatures.
I have no idea what Archeops is doing there, seeing as Aerodactyl and the dinofossils aren't in Water 3.
Drapion's also there, but it still makes more sense than FirstBurd.

Bug/Dragon gives it a niche that is advantageous to what the other Dragons have to offer. Before its best use was as a U-turner scout when Garchomp couldn't do that. People like their Pokemon having a use. If it was just a better garchomp, that'd be no fun.

It gives it something to do, like Absol being the ultimate sucker puncher by magic bouncing everything it can't sucker punch. Or like XZard being the best dragon dancer with STAB being resisted by a total of 4 or so Pokemon. Mega Scizor is meant to be the epitome of bulky swords dance scizor sets. Mega Venusaur is the best subseeder we've got

Bug/Dragon compliments the U-turning scout mentality well by giving it STAB on U-Turn and keeping dragon so now it can pull off full power Draco Meteor+full power U-Turn combos. Hand it magic guard to negate rocks and also be able to eat off stuff like toxic and you've got a fantastic scout

+Possibility of retcon moves to fit a bug type like sticky web and quiver dance
-Only other pokemon to get that have had ability related flavour, not type.

+no x4 weaknesses
-So so many x2 weaknesses
-like no resists

Bug/Ground
+STAB u turn abusable without rock weakness
+Not walled by steels, and can u turn when skarmory shows its ugly face
+Bug hits one of the three types ground will not, grass.
+The other two types are covered by rock, a type is has for coverage.
-Weak to flying
-Weak to fire
-Doesn't actually resist rock

I dunno why people don't want bug/ground more.

Mega Tyranitar? Definitely.
Regular Tyranitar only occasionally runs Ice Beam to hit Gliscor and Landorus-T, the former having much lower special defence and the latter having Intimidate. The kind of TTar to have Ice Beam is typically Support, not Offensive.
