I'm someone who tries to appreciate designs lots of people don't seem to like, including M-Aerodactyl or M-Heracross (although I didn't like the former that much either), and I think Mega Sharpedo is just a plain bad design, like "this is a first draft of an idea" bad. Yes I can kinda see what they wanted to do and I like the nose spikes, but all the yellow bits just don't look good. It's not even one of those "purposefully ugly" designs you can appreciate somewhat.
It has the same colors as the base form yes, but the colors are arranged in a simple and pleasing way on Sharpedo. On M-Sharpedo it just seems to have random yellow bits all over for no apparent reason. They don't look anything like scars, the only thing I can imagine is that they wanted to make it looks like a submarine or something. It probably would look a lot better if they took the yellow bits off the bottom half of the design or something.
