>people here seriously underestimating Altaria
Alright fags here's why Mega Altaria is going to wreck face:
Dragon/Fairy is a godly defensive typing. It 'only' has seven resistances, but all of those resistances are really good and it has reliable recovery
Weak to Steel (lel,) Poison (lel,) Fairy (not so lel but this is still only used as STAB) and Ice (not quad-weak, mind you, so HP Ice won't do shit)
Mega Altaria, just like Latias, can check Keldeo and Y-zard. HOWEVER, it resists Pursuit, instead of being weak to it. This is really important.
It also resists X-zard's dual STABs, and is neutral to EQ. This is also important.
It pretty much resists Thundurus' entire movepool with the exception of HP Ice
It resists Mega Heracross' dual STABs and can OHKO it with Pixilate Return/Hyper Voice
About Pixilate, that is some nice offensive presence for a tank. So Mega Gyarados can also go fuck itself
Lati@s and Garchomp will also have trouble with it, depending on how much Def it gets. Ditto with Mega Medicham and Terrakion.
It has a weirdly colorful movepool with stuff like Perish Song, Haze, Roar, Cotton Guard, Heal Bell, and so on. A defensive set would probably look like Roost/Hyper Voice and then stuff like Heal Bell and Roar.
It will be able to run a Dragon Dance set, which would add to its overall viability and usage. DD set would look like DD/Return/EQ/Flamethrower|HP Rock|Roost. Mixed set with Draco Meteor could also be cool.
So yeah it will be the wallmon to end all wallmons and also be a cool offensive mon when it's not being a wall. git ready.
