First step, ask the judge in the Kiloude City Pokemon Center. If he tells you that all of your stats are perfect, it's very definitely fake.

It's not legit.

The only shiny Shaymin are those caught at the flower pass thing, and Oak's Letter was only distributed in Japan.

At the very least, the item used to trigger the event was hacked in. It's unobtainable in any other language. As a League co-ordinator, it's one of those things I would have to call a DQ on.

Shiny Manapy, however, is possible in English due to an oversight in the code of Diamond and Pearl.

I'm pretty sure event-only pokemon have a shiny lock, meaning you cannot obtain their shiny variation naturally. If it's bait, well whoops. If not, wanna help a guy out. I don't think it will screw anything up. I have a bunch of non-legit shinys from trade.

You're right in that the Mystery Gift Pokemon are locked, but the initial Shaymin was an in-game event as noted above.

There are people who have soft-reset for Shaymin after hacking in the item.

Actually, I think it may have seen distribution in the UK as well. That being said, it's still likely hacked.
