If you're giving 252 EVs to two different Stats, you're inevitably going to be giving 252 EVs to something which doesn't have a positive Nature for it.

Things that boost speed can run Adamant/Modest with 252 speed just fine to raise that strength cap a bit while still sitting in a relevant speed tier. See: Sharpedo and Cloyster.

That's not the issue
Its that speed is a very exact thing, you invest specific numbers to outspeed specific things, not just "more speed"

Not surprised that /vp/ doesnt know how to make an advanced spread. Also, that's more tailored for dubs, living a hit there can change the whole game around and you have only one chance seeing how battles dont last much.
252/252 works more in singles.

Its pretty good on attackers running scarf but need the extra damage. Adamant Reckless Staraptor for instance.
