When I mean "passive" I do not mean support pokemon. I mean pokemon that are almost entirely incapable of dealing damage; this is what Audino is if it does not get a significant boost to its 60/60 offenses.

Mega Gallade is meant to "counter" Fake Out
But it can't take on the most common Fake Out user without support? And don't pretend Fake Out is reliable support, it only works first turn so for Mega Gallade to handle Mega Mom, it needs specific partners and that partner's first turn on the field has to be up against Mega Mom.
Oh, and it's not like Fake Out and Mega Mom in general are hard to handle. Ghosts, Encore and your own Fake Outs can muck with opposing Fake Outs while Mega Mom is handled by fast fighting types that resist Dark (i.e. not Gallade), Wisp spam, Intimidate spam and Ghost types. So Gallade is filling a niche that doesn't need to be filled.
At any rate, even if Inner Focus has SOME use, somewhere, it's still a shitty ability that's very situational. There are dozens of abilities that have better and more general utility. Instead of Gamefreak going "hey Gallade fans! Your bro isn't outclassed anymore! It got a mega and is now really powerful!" it's "hey Gallade fans! Your bro can fill a small niche in a format you might not even play! Hooray!" It's just a fuck you.
