I can appreciate how Mega Houndoom would be a reasonable evolution to Houndoom, but I much prefer something like Charizard X bursting out with its bat wings, edgy color scheme and constant fire face

There's been a huge creep since GenIII of Pokemon with shit all over them opposed to an actual design. It was sparse as fuck in GenIII, maybe one or two in GenII, but GenIV onward it's been a snowballing amount of Pokemon with unnecessary shit all over them. I guess I mean overdesigned. Then again, if you took away all the stupid yellow shit from M-Sharpedo and the extremely retarded nose spikes, he'd look virtually the same, so.
