That anon was simi-correct, no, ambidexterity is not a myth, however, almost all of the ~3% of people considered to be ambi. started life as lefties in a righties world and just naturally picked up being able to use their right arm just as well.
Everything is designed with rightie in mind with an afterthought for leftie ONLY if the object is impossible or nearly impossible to use for them, the switches and such in cars, the knob placement on doors, the mouse for your computer, scissors, circular saws, the way your shirt buttons up, everything. Its all geared to be simple for a right handed person to use and so lefties eventually get the hang of it, the lefties that -really- get the hang of it, well we call those guys ambidextrous.
