It was a choice based on the mechanics of flower veil, Florges couldn't use flower veil effectively if it had the exact same weaknesses as what it was buffing.

I still think it'd be cool if it got a mega with an ability that gave it all the grass benefits with none of the drawbacks.
Grass STAB and powder protection but none of the type weaknesses since it'd still be pure Fairy.

No, Klefki is made out of Steel and has metal powers. Floette is associated with a flower as an accessory and it can use it for a few moves but it itself is not a grass entity and doesn't have grass powers.

It would't even be immune to status nor stat lowering. It'd be immune to some forms of sleep and still take toxic the same while dying to talonflame and being much more useless than Sylveon with nothing to make up for it.
