I had a question for you guys, does anyone know if oras retcons the previous pokemon timeline?
Pokemon red/bue/green and gold silver/crystal are in their own timeline, and the storyline of the games essentially got a reboot in gen 3 since before the games had continuity.
The continuity before Oras was like this:
Generation I/III:
The events of FireRed, LeafGreen, Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald occur (Emerald being the cannon gen 3 story)
Between Generation I/III and Generation II/IV:
The events of Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon Ranger occur
Three years after Generation I/Generation III (Generation II/Generation IV):
The events of Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, and Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs (Platinum being the cannon gen 4 story)
Two years after Generation II/Generation IV:
The events of Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness occur
Unknown number of years after Generation II/Generation IV (Generation V):
The events of Black and White
Two years after Black and White:
The events of Black 2 and White 2 and X and Y
Now this is from bulbapedia though I've latered it a bit, but what I'm wondering is how will Oras fit into this?
Oras seems to be a total retelling of the original games, but altered, do you guys think Oras is a sequel to Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald or do you think Oras is a plain remake with retcons?
