At any point they start playing it, I take away the disc. I teach them that while these games may have guns in them, there are more games they need to learn about before it. Not because of maturity, but because they'd get to wrapped up in it and wouldn't know anything else beyond 6 Year Old Simulator

Give him/her my old pokemon shit: toys, books, VHS tapes of old episodes, etc.
Then introduce games with Red, and spin offs, like pinball and tcg. Along with that I'd have em play other games for diversity. They aren't going to be casuals, not on my watch.

Well, I think just introduce it slowly. Me and my girlfriend don't plan on having kids anytime soon, but I'm fairly certain the series will continue on as long as it makes money.

I brought my little brother (age 8) some pokemon cards back from my travels in Japan and Korea. He wasn't really into them at the time, but at his daycare some other kids brought in cards, so he brought in cards and was officially the coolest kid ever.
