Autism and /vp/

No.20983930 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
So I know that calling anonymous strangers on /vp/ autistic is a bit ingrained as per board culture.
But I wanted to let you guys know that it technically doesn't make sense.
I've been working as an ABA therapist for the past six years or so, helping people with communicative disorders, fine/gross motor development, and speech delays. People with autism tend to experience a higher rate of emotion/sensory integration towards the world around them & are highly sensitive to sound/light.

Most of the autistic children & people that I've met have ZERO interest in pokemon, let alone breeding eggs/shiny rates.

a more suitable handicap for /vp/ and numerical pokemon hoarding, IV checking, and shiny hunting would be obsessive-compulsive disorder.
now I don't expect /vp/ to change, at all. but please think about what you say in the real world & don't accidentally call a friend autistic.
>you would be giving them a compliment, not an insult.
>TL;DR: autism isn't what you think it is. people with autism are usually the most sincere & nice. /vp/ is not autistic.
