It's not very good in singles but this set is probably the best one for it in VGC/doubles

Max SpA, Speed, rest in HP, and all STAB moves. For fun, I like to slap Entrainment, Toxic, and Roar onnit. Noble Roar is garbage, unless you want to dent the other's lead a little before Pyroar dies.

Extremely solid ghost counter. The moment my opponent switches to a ghost, I bring out my Pyroar. He's absorbed countless Will-O-Wisps and Shadow Balls. Unnerve probably has also stopped a few Trevenants from Harvest abuse too. Then, you can just spam Dark Pulse. And Will-o-wisp is fantastic for when you know an Absol or Honchkrow is about to try to Suckerpunch you.

Finally, Hypervoice has made more than a few Substitute users rage-quit.

Max speed and s.atk, modest nature, Life Orb
Fire Blast, Hyper Voice, Dark Pulse, Will-o-wisp.

What this guy said, Pyroar is a pretty solid counter to a few different strategies.

Definitely a niche mon, but a good one.

I'm crazy like a fox and run a male with Rivalry and Attract for random PSS battles in my Battle Box.

All the kiddies who run starters and only use males get 25% more damage from Rivalry, and I can attract the ladies if they don't.

In any case, Timid nature (will be outspeed by the common positive 108 base speed Pokemon) and Life Orb / Choice Specs as item.

- Fire Blast / Flamethrower
- Hyper Voice
- HP Ground / HP Ice

The last slot depends on your team and strategy:

- Endeavor / Will-o-Wisp / Protect / Taunt / Dark Pulse / Overheat

The best it can achieve at the moment.
HP is worthy as coverage move only for common x4 weaknesses. You can also try the Substitute gimmick with Life Orb / Lefties and Endeavor, you'll need to run only its dual STAB moves.

It's got a nice gimmick in doubles; Entrainment to put Moxie onto a teammate (Usually Garchomp) who then KOs it with Earthquake to get its first boost.

Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Snarl
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt

It's great support and surprisingly bulky.
Physical attacker? Burn it. Special attacker? Snarl it. Status Pokemon? Taunt it. And Hyper Voice picks off those close to dead Pokemon your teammate shouldn't have to waste a turn on while softening up the other.
