Exactly. A lot of people (myself included) think that they went above and beyond what they could do for a Fire/Dragon Charizard by giving it a new color scheme (admit it) and otherwise keeping a lot of its classic look.

But instead of appreciating the new typing and saying that the design just isn't their thing, people are like "WAAAAA EDGYZARD IS EDGY Y MASTER RACE"

Not that I don't mind Y; it's just that with all the complaining going around, you'd think that people forget that Y is still a fucking Fire/Flying type.

On the other end of the spectrum, you have Mewtwo's megas, which fail by changing the design too much. I'm sure that a dark purple version of regular Mewtwo with psychic flames streaming from its hands would have been more popular than what we have now.

I would've been okay if that was the only part of its mega honestly. Upgrading the eternal life force fire it had since charmander was long overdue.

I think Megazard X is fine, but I like Megazard Y more.

The only thing that really bothers me about X is the color scheme. I would have liked it more if ti had normal Charizard colors.

Yeah, I get that.
I think it was a bad move.

It kind of devalues having an actual shiny Charizard if you plan on running Mega X, because you get a color scheme that looks like Charizard's shiny if you just run a normal Mega X.

In my opinion it would have been better if Megazard X looked like this, and its shiny form was black and blue like it currently is. But like I said, that's just my opinion.

They are just too stupid for our own good. They could have easily made up a region where climate and stones act differently so pokémon get different evolutions depending on those. So instead of mega charizard, we just get a variant of charizard, different stats spread, with different color if you want. It can be applied to all the starters and pokémon that need stones. That could have showed the true nature of some of them, like charizard who is a dragon without dragon type.

I never wanted a Fire/Dragon Charizard, you moron. I never saw it as a dragon, I never wanted to see it as a dragon.

If Charizard had gotten only one mega, and it were X, I'd only be disappointed. However, the fact that it got two is just Nintendo pandering to only part of its fanbase, which doesn't do much for the whole "use whichever pokémon you want" deal. I mean, I'm 'murrican. I like equality. And that means equality for Charizardfags, Blastoisefags, and Venusaurfags alike.

Oh, you know what else I never asked for? A black Charizard with stupid fire cheeks.
