What's the best type to combine with normal?

All these recent X/Normal pokemon have gotten my attention on a type I never even thought about until now.

Which existing ones are actually good?

Diggersby, Pyroar, and Meloetta are pretty decent (well STAB Psyshock lets Meloetta beat Fighting types and Special walls). Wigglytuff probably has the best Normal dual type right now, but it can't really make use of it effectively.

Normal/Ghost has one weakness (Dark) but 3 immunities and 2 resistances.

And as someone else said, neutral STAB coverage on nearly all Pokemon.

Only one weakness and a decent amount of resistances and immunities.
Ghost also got wonderful coverage after the Steel nerf, so it coult do pretty good offensively as well. Especially with the large amount of coverage moves Normal types tend to get.

Upcoming Normal/Fighting Mega-Lopunny is actually another pretty good one offensively.

Scrappy w/ Normal/Fighting has universal coverage.

Ghost would be the best one that hasn't been done yet, as a few people mentioned already.

As for current normal types that are pretty cool, I like Kangaskhan (even without Mega), Swellow, Kecleon, Exploud, the Porygons and Miltank. This is not counting Ditto who doesnt really keep its type and Smeargle who's type doesnt really matter.

And Tyranitar. Two pokémon that can't be ignored.

They're both weak to Fighting - but Fighting/Ghost has perfect neutral coverage anyway, bar a hypothetical Normal/Ghost.
