>>21015903Iris' character was...ok. Her character was fun. She was diffrent from any other female protagonist Ash ever traveled with. Her catchphrase didn't really bug me, since Ash's regressed character deserved it. I liked the fact that she was already a trainer to begin with and her goal didn't seem that bad. A dragon master could be cool. But why did every Pokemon have to be disobedient? Excadrill was understandable, so was Dragonite. But Emolga? Really?
And man, I was dissapointed Axew didn't evolve in the Iris special. He deserved it, because he got some decent screentime.
I hope they kind of continue to establish her character in XY for a bit, since she will most likely appear.
Episode N was really abrupt. I wished they used another protagonist (Hugh) to deal with Team Plasma (like the Mega Evolution special!), since N had no effect on Ash whatoever.
The league. My god was it bad, even the children in Japan hated it! (this is actually true). I didn't really care about Cameron but...why did he have to be the one defeating Ash? Virgil or Stephan would've made sense. BUT WHY CAMERON. God.
I'm glad XY went into a new direction, having characters who can actually be developed in their own pace. Serena wasn't allowed to be worked with yet because they had to work with Ash first. And Ash is like his Advanced self again and I for one, like this. He doesn't need any development, aside from his Pokémon and maybe a Mega Evolution arc for Ash, who knows? My only complaints are Team Rocket not entirely being themselves (yet!) and Korrina and Lucario fanservice.
Oh well.
