Initially I thought of posting shit for being loaded with all these feels.. But you really did good, OP, reminding me of what about Poké that I really love! And that's not the competetive scene, I prefer chess for that matter other than going for it with your buds. You may call it escapism, but for me the wonder of Poké is a beautiful dream.
