Psuedo's

No.21033782 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Disclaimer: I actually enjoyed X&Y, I have a few gripes with most generations, none of which I notice while playing.

I have one main gripe with the X&Y dex. It's not that it's too small. It's not that several families look like they're flat out missing evolutions (Pangoro and Inkay need a split evo line, Heliolisk looks like it just needs another evolution etc)
It's how anticlimatic the goddamn psuedo was.
Lets run through how special they made all the psuedos feel in their own generation.

Dragonite
>In the safari zone, an area filled with special pokemon.
>Decently late in the game
>Is the only one of its type for not just this generation, but until until generation 3
>Evolves later than everything else.
>Is Lances signature pokemon

Tyranitar
>Literally not avaliable until right before the last big fight of the game
>Uses one of the shiny new awesome typings (But didnt reveal that fact to you until the final stage)
>Also evolves super late
>Noone in the game even uses it
>Powerful looking design/name

Salamence
>Involves backtracking into a secret area after you get all the gym badges.
>Signature mon of last of the elite 4
>Such a cool ability that announces itself
>And it even looks intimidating
>The area you find it in styles itself as a training location for powerful trainers.

Metagross
>Signature mon of the champion
>Unique type combination, doesn't have a dual weakness.
>Has what is practically a signaure move
>Not avaliable until AFTER you've had the champ wreck your shit with it
>And you don't even catch it, he has to GIVE it to you.
>Then you have to train it from level FIVE.

Garchomp
>Hidden in a secret area you can't even see.
>And in D/P you had to backtrack to said secret area after the strength HM
>Unique type combo that gives you access to moves that feel so dang powerful
>Literally was so dang powerful
>Champs signature mon
