SSB Ganondorf looks so goddamn lame by comparison. It makes even less sense, since characters like Bowser and Pit got overhauls in some way. But nope, looks like Captain Ganon is here to stay. Doubtful. Sakurai said development started in early 2012. It's not unfeasible to think that when he went to Gamefreak for Pokemon related stuff, he saw the plans for Mewtwo's Mega forms and such.

This was found in the game's data. It's apparently for the character select screen and is called 'page2'. Could be just beta content, but no other beta content like unused characters or music has been found. And with Nintendo jumping on the DLC train for Mario Kart 8, I think we'll be seeing DLC for Smash Bros. Whether Mewtwo is part of it or not though, I think is a coin toss.

Dark Pit really should have just been a palette swap for Pit. It really blazes my balls that Alph is alt for Olimar, but Dark Pit gets to be his own character. Not to mention Lucas doesn't even get the courtesy of being a Ness alt. To rub salt in the wound even more, all of Lucas' specials are available as custom moves for Ness.

I'm fine with the Kirby characters. Kirby is a pretty big series. Kid Icarus however, got a ridiculous amount of attention in this game compared to bigger series like Starfox and DK. DK still doesn't even have an assist trophy, despite having an even more successful rebirth than Kid Icarus.

Not a lot to choose from for Metroid. There's the who Ridley shitstorm, but it's pretty clear Sakurai just sees him as a boss.

DK is fucking inexcusable. Both Dixie or K. Rool would be perfect, but no, Dong Country gets nothing. Not even an Assist Trophy or new stage.

Wario isn't really big enough to get more. I would love to see Captain Syrup, but Sakurai seems to think that Wario Land never existed.

We've seen it with Ganondorf; if Mewtwo returned he would've been a bare nuckles rehash of his Melee moveset, and his Melee moveset was a real load of fucking shit. Lots of tail attacks when it can't learn anything of the sort, pathetic range and DARKNESS on what should be not shit Psychics, and Disable and Confusion actively being worse than not doing anything.

Quite honestly, I'm actually a little surprised that they didn't include a Gen 3 'mon in the game, since it seems like it'd be pretty well timed for advertising of ORAS. That, combined with the fact that Sceptile's getting a Mega would seem to put it as a likely choice for Smash.
At very least I'm surprised that they didn't do what they usually do and just go full retard and put Blaziken in.

I was honestly worried about this, you know Pacman is the same opposite of Megaman, nobody really cares about it but Capcom tries to ress it every fucking time, ending in the abomination that's right now. I'm glad they chose the old Pacman style to be on Smash, he looks great.
They're Bowser's Jr's skin, I thought the guy was going to be redundant like a mini Bowser but it actually looks great in play with the clown car.

ORAS was only confirmed in May of this year. When Sakurai was deciding which characters to add to the kerfuffle, Sceptile was about as relevant as fucking Meganium.
