http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KABroqqbhFQ Of course, we've all seen the preview, but have you ever examined the 0:26-0:28 mark? At the 0:27 mark, you can actually see Lucario being hit by Pikachu's Electro Ball. Pic Related
Usually, the scenes depicted in these previews are in order. At the 0:28 mark we see Ash issue a command. This scene should take place after the clash between Pikachu and Lucario. Thanks to Tierno's break dancing battling style, Ash was able to improve the mobility of his Pokemon. Since he was able to issue a final command to Pikachu, it's very likely that Pikachu dodged Luke's Aura Sphere, which would've KO'd him in the condition he's in, through the use of the break dancing technique.
Combined with the fact that the episode is titled "Pikachu vs Lucario" and not "Lucario vs Pikachu..." Ash's victory is practically confirmed!
>Ash defeats a Mega Trainer in a fair 3v3 match with no Mega of his own. Canon-wise, not even the game protagonists could pull off such a feat. Guess Ash might not have a rival for this season.
