What's your opinion on the Gamecube games? Personally, I think Colosseum is one of my favorites of the franchise. I haven't played Gale of Darkness.

Colosseum has fantastic music, and even though XY has better models Colosseum has infinitely better animations.

The mix of Pokemon you can grab and the overall feel of new blood to the game in just about every aspect makes it a very memorable Pokemon game. I would say its still worth it just for the experience alone, the pokemon it can give your GBA games just being a bonus.

I found the battles in both games to be painfully slow. Dungeon crawling was such a chore. Plus, all of the characters looked deformed with mongoloid foreheads. At least the music was good, though

Haven't played it since my original save way back when

all I remeber are Mismagius and Hitmontop which were my absolute favorites at the time, i'm not sure I even used any other pokemon

Colosseum and XD are great, with Colo. being the better of the two. it was the first game with an older protagonist and a more "mature" tone. You're a 17 year-old, in a gang that's known around the region for the petty crimes its members commit, and you abandon said gang when they decide to start stealing Pokemon, but rather than just quit, you steal the device they were going to steal Pokemon with, and blow up their base. Then you have to stop this gang who uses Pokemon that have been experimented on and fucked with so bad that all they know to do is fight, and sometimes during battle they can't even do that because they either lose control and do nothing or lose control and attack you. Colosseum is metal.

I loved Colosseum and XD. I think the best aspect of them was the forced limitation on what Pokémon you could use. It made the game really interesting.

Adored the soundtracks.

Liked how they screwed with the usual formula by constraining your choice of species and also how you unlock full use of them over time (Purification Chamber in XD was a godsend, though). The exclusive moves that some Shadow Pokemon earned were cool too. Confused some of my less-aware friends to hell back in the day.

Probably my favorite games in the series. I still replay them.
