Still beat him, but only because my Exeggutor got VERY lucky with sleep powder.
In case you're curious, I was only running four hacked lvl55 mons (56 by the end) against him with no healing between E4 and his battles. Perfect IVs and customized movesets+EVs+items, but nothing too broken and actually not optimal for beating E4+rival.
