Does anyone else miss the tone the first Pokémon games had?
No don't get me wrong, I'm no nostalgiafag at all, and please don't try and shit up the thread.
I'm talking about the first games. The pokemon were slightly more monster than the cute animal buddies they are today. How lonely you feel on your journey, it was you against the world. Not to mention how you just take your stuff and leave.
Heck, even the overworld felt darker. I were actually afraid of the Seafoam (?) Island where you catch Articuno, the cave had just an omnious feeling.
Anyone that recognizes this with me and agrees?
