tl;dw: New hardware. There will also be New Nintendo 3DS only titles. Ninty guys says it's backwards compatible for 3DS games but suspiciously didn't mention DS games at the same time. I fear we're looking at a DSi situation and I don't like it.

The 2 reasons why I did it is, 1. still cheaper then Australia despite shipping fees and 2. Can buy games that never come out in PAL, Rune Factory 4 being an example.
I also did it assuming US always get's stuff before us but here we are.

it has sligthly bigger screen for the regular 3ds
both should have slightly better battery
