Overall, I'd say Venusaur is easily the best of the three at serving its own particular role. Charizard obviously has a lot of builds and possibilities but all of that is at the cost of coming in a half health because of stealth rocks. It's not particularly easy to keep it alive at all, so in its roles as a sweeper its sweep can be cut severely short and as a devensive char x build its first goal is always trying to get back to full HP.
If you throw out venusaur and your objective is to stay alive, you're in good hands. All this thing does is stay on the field and whittle everything down with all kinds of leach and passive damage, and even if they have something that can kill it you can switch it out to something that can cover for that and Venusaur will live to balk another day.
And Blastoise is basically not competitive at all. "Hurr durr muh rapid spin," fuck off, nigga, Even Charizard, the fire type, has builds with mega X that none of Blastoise's stab or coverage moves can touch.
