>>21099897>Like, say, Nasty PlotThats really fucking smart given that the assumed situation is that Thundurus is just there to cripple something that would destroy the user's whole team if left unchecked.
Obviously a few turns have already passed, the opponent lost a Wash-Rotom or maybe even TTar (though I doubt Sceptile's THAT strong), and the sceptile user has something that forced out Thundurus. Like Scarfchomp or god knows what. Point is:
Sceptile megas on something that cant kill it because it outspeeds a ton and STAB Dragon/Grass is pretty dangerous.
The opponent brings in something to revenge kill.
Sceptile switches out, blocks the revenge kill and scores another KO.
Thundurus KOs. Hypothetically, the match is now Thundurus v. Chomp, Terrakion, maybe Greninja, Talonflame, or a set up user like Clefable, Calm Mind Keldeo, etc.
In the case of Terrakion, it can always Focus blast which deals about 60% of Sceptiles HP if they go for the switch, but there's shaky accuracy and immunities to factor in to that as well. Sceptile may have to switch out to something else if Thundurus doesnt TWave, but it still threatens it IF it comes in at the right time.
Yes, prediction is involved.
No, Thundurus will not win 100% of matchups. This is where team planning and strategy come into play.
