Ice Pokemon have to be very fast sweepers. Making an Ice-Type tanky as happened here is just a stupid idea because of Ice being a horrible defensive typing. Game Freak should really know better after 5 Generations.

Mamoswine is a viable mixed attacker with minimal SpA investiment and Life Orb.
It can outspeed most Rotom-W and Gyarados variants and 2HKO them with Freeze-Dry, making it a viable choice.

It's a fucking special attacker with a conversion ability is why it should learn hyper voice you fucking mongoloid.

The voice thing just means there is no thematic barrier, i.e. gyarados could benefit from Ice Punch but it would make no fucking sense.

Being able to force a switch on gliscor, even if his sub is up, is a lot better than what he can do now. He also has status and coverage options and better defensive stats than Rampardos.

This isn't about making him azumarill tier, it's about gamefreak neglecting to give him obvious things that would make him at least somewhat useful.

This was an opportunity to change and grow: lots of evolutions change their base Pokemon's typing, gaining or losing a type and becoming a different beast. This could have hatched rock / ice, then evolved to ice / electric.

Ice absolutely needs to resist more things because what's the fucking point of a defensive type that only resists itself? Gamefreak's ideas regarding the theming of Ice is just incredibly ass backwards and needs some major revision.

In addition to that, Hail needs a buff. Many Ice type pokemon have Hail reliant abilities and Hail is not a good enough weather type to make it worth using. Especially following the weather nerf. The only type that benefits from Hail is Ice types which gives it poor team synergy and Hail confers no real side bonuses like the other weather types. Sun lowers Water damage allowing it to better deal with a threatening type. Rain does the same against Fire attacks which doesn't directly give Water pokemon a defensive boost, does give it good team synergy. Similarly with Sand boosting the Special Defence of Rock pokemon by 50%. Hail doesn't do shit and it needs to be reworked or the pokemon with abilities reliant on Hail need to be given abilities that aren't fucking terrible.
