I like how much more room you get for different mons, I like to go trough like 20ish mons in a normal run.
Besides the games are easy enough, even moreso with "perfect" pokemon.

What mattered more to me was that each of them was the descendent of my Emerald bros (and some have FireRed ancestry too), though. I got the idea when I noticed that I had a male Bellossom in E and a female Vileplume in FR, so I could breed them together and breed their offspring into a 5IV Oddish. So I did this with the rest of my team too (except Raichu).
I also made sure that they're all the great-grandchildren of my bros (it would have been difficult to get pentaperfect grandchildren).
