I have no way to counter that stupid Sash Gengar with Hypnosis, Nightmare, Dream Eater, and Shadow Ball. The only thing that's worked is Lum Tyranitar, but I don't want to have to run that every time.

I got to 50 super double battles relatively pain free using an intimidate gyarados @splash plate/lightningrod manectric @zap plate lead followed by megakanga and heal pulse gardevoir, didnt even use megakanga that much because the gyarados/manectric combo dominated so hard

I've been trying multi with AI. The only typhlosion I have is torterra/typhlosion, but yeah I've been seeing a lot of waters, weather changers, and flash fire pokemon. Lost around 30 to a hail walrein. I don't really have any good AI partners.

The only Rock Slide you should be worried about is Scarf'd Aero's rock slide. Even then, it doesn't KO Typhlosion and you can switch out your Char for CB Metagross and OHKO next turn with Bullet Punch.

Also, if you see an Aero on the opposing side your Typhlosion isn't going to use Eruption anyway. It'll probably use Focus Miss.

It'll live to shoot off Focus Misses while your Metagross OHK's the Aero next turn.

Charizard-Y/Typhlosion has problems, but this is Multis with AI. The AI is utterly retarded, and the only partners you can sort of rely on are Choiced ones - and Scarf Typhlosion happens to be one of the better ones. Running Zard-Y which is pretty good on its own boosts its Eruption nicely.

Aerodactyl1 doesn't matter at all - it only appears in battles 1-10. Other Aerodactyl sets, it outspeeds - and if it gets one full-HP Eruption off, it's already done more than you could ask of the retarded AI.

Just gotta make a team thats hard to counter. If theres anything one of your guys cant deal with, your other 2/3 should be able to check or counter whatever that is.

I run Azumarill, Garchomp, and Volcarona for this. Its not perfect and I dont have a hard counter against Flying or Water but these 3 cover eachother pretty nicely.

Basically every battle has been a breeze. Once it was pretty close, it came down to Jolteon and a Foretress at half health, but a Specs Thunderbolt finished it off.

Basically, if you don't switch of team after XX battle, the game actually throw counter team at your face, so you have to be very careful or you get cockblocked.

Singles is pretty easy with a EnterTRUANTment Durant (I scarfed mine just to be sure it got the job done) and a Pokemon with a boosting move and Protect, for me I used M-Gyarados (because of it's varied weaknesses among the two forms besides Electric) and sometimes M-Alakazam.

My personal favorite was the battle factory. You pick 3 pokemon out of 6 randoms to rent, then have 3v3 battles. After each battle, you can trade out one mon for one from the guy you beat. Felt so strategic with the team building and all.

Roost can't be used when at full HP, so you can't avoid getting OHKO'd by Rock/Electric attacks using it. With Protect, you get free turns against any Stone Edge/Rock Slide users and STAB Electric moves the AI throws at you. Talonflame also tends to get to low HP by taking a hit and suffering recoil damage, at which points it draws attacks nicely and can use Protect to get a free turn.

Protect is a fantastic move in general in Maison Doubles and Triples, you can never go wrong with it if you've got a moveslot to spare.

And you're not playing the same repetitive scenario - the Maison is pretty much the "procedurally generated random track" that's all the rage in videogames nowadays. It's only repetitive if you play the same team and mode over and over - there are a lot of viable strategies, and all four modes play quite differently.

For example, in the Subway, some guys made big runs with Power Trick Shuckle in Singles. Carvanha with Dive + Specs Entei was succesfully used in Doubles. The Maison has been out for less than a year now so there's not as much crazy shit figured out yet, but the point is that there's a lot of variety in the teams and strategies you can utilize in the Maison. With a new team, it's almost a new game entirely with a different set of threats.
