Yeah I know. I constantly forget weather or not i locked the house. I never forgot to actually lock it, but usually i return to double check.

my shinigami will be glass cannon- hi sp.atk and high speed. it just that she has timid nature with 30-31 speed ivs (no breeding, i got her at the game corner) so i decided not to waste such potential.
I don't go for SKomachi tough, as i am using her as surfer and SKomachi don't have as high spatk as normal komachi.

I turned battle animation on for this pic, but usually i evtrain without it as it makes training faster. if there is something i do forget tough is to turn it back on once i'm done ev training.

She's the only puppet who, in every form, is completely unable to harm the Ghost Fairy until she runs out of all her PP and has to Struggle, even including egg moves.

Judgement doesn't work, by the way, and neither would Foresight/Return (why would you even have that combo?) as that would just enable you to hit ZFairy neutrally, not SE. ZFairy is as hard a counter to Shiki Eiki as is possible to create; I'm not sure if there's one harder.

Since both my miko and my death god are weak to wind, I decided it's time to do something about it.

my next puppet would be a DPatche. now I need to make the neccery prepparations for calculating a CPatchi IVs to make sure i got my money's worth.

EV training is repetitive, but in the long run it's worth the time. and the dafances of a DPatche would be godly, even if her base HP is misrable.

I wonder if I should focus on both def stats, to stretch her def to her true potential (200 base + 252ev to both) or perhaps i should focus on hp where the result of the training would show the most (35 base) with 252 hp, 128 def and 128 sp def.

base speed is 5 so I won't even try.

o yes, I aleready got it when i switched to mech to get the fossils at the top of mirrage tower. it's how i got my ARaimu.

I completly forgot my mom gives me a donation box (read: amulet coin) after i beat norman and only got it by chance, so please don't stop reminding me stuff. allso, only today i have learned that amulet coin works on payday, even tough it's the most obvious thing ever.

It's like the creator got sensible at that point. The protag has also stopped talking, which is good too. But why, when i save Professor Rowan, do I NOT get a Sinnoh Starter and instead must wait till way the fuck later when I won't want to grind a new mon?

At least Zoroark has Intimidate and is p decent in a Gen 3 game.

As I mentioned last night, Team Fusion is kill. At the last Gym in Darkwood Town, which is Fighting themed. Only guessing the E4 will be Steel/Dragon/Ghost/something with Blake as the champion with Dark(rai)

Noticed not only are TMs re-usable, but there is a EV training place at Darkwood where you can face a guy with a Vaporeon/Flareon/Leafeon/Espeon/Sylveon/Jolteon repeatedly. Only a shame EV reducing berries are nowhere to be seen, I'd reset some of the pointless defence EVs on my Zoroark and Infernape.

although the fact these trainers raised their eons for the sole purpose of getting deliberately wrecked hundreds of times is a bit dodgy

I reckon altering my name to this will be more helpful.

Deino evolved so it's not completely unhelpful right now, but still a bit shite until 64.

Probably should make a point of obtaining a decent Magikarp for a Gyarados, which I can actually EV if I want to. I'll see what post-league is like.

Oh, forgot to mention but we dispatched of the ScarfPika before Team Fusion fell. It finally got bored of being OHKO'd instantly every time I encountered it.

Faced some guy with a bunch of fighting types including a Shiny Breloom. He gave me a 40 Blaziken at the end...with Blaze.

well, im done training her.
took a while.

anyway, i kinda regret not getting komachi to learn her slash attacks. sure, she is sp attacker, but since i got scope lens (stole them at brandon gym) she could really wrack some shit with hi crit ratio attacks. oh well. she will learn better moves later anyway.

at first i was preplaxed at her stats, as there is an obvious gap between her def and spd. than i remembered she is a bold one and relaxed.

mauvile now. next stop- fallarbor, fighting any recalanger on the way.

Onwards! again.

ps. boxed my alice and medicine for not being ev trained. i kept rumia for now, for thief, but i wont be using her a lot.

You're more than welcome to discuss ROM hacks normally and if you don't want to see the "let's plays" you'll find they're rather easy to filter due to each "LPer" using a tripcode.

It seems, instead of types, the E4 are themed on colours. The first one is straight from The Femail on Sunday it seems.

We take on the grunts, Lucario cleans house as usual, and then Diark sends out Dark Lugia against me.

Dark Lugia, rather than spamming its über move Dark Beam, just uses Shadow Ball over and over again and it must have PITIFUL Attack because it did no damage against anything. It also spammed Whirlwind after Furbait boosted, so I just poisoned and Cursed it to kill it in three turns.

Then we get

I'm pretty sure you get some kind of token nudge in RSE, but even if you didn't, there are like half as many towns in Hoenn as there are in Gento, as well as you being able to go back to Rustboro without needing to take the ferry. Here, you have to backtrack through the entire linear region to get back to Snow Soft Town. No hints or reminders or anything at all pointing you needing to go there; if I didn't have meta knowledge by knowing they didn't majorly change the structure of the game, if I had never played RSE to know about Norman, there would be no way whatsoever to know how to get the 5th badge.

Keep things legal, or make sure player has access to the move as well. For example if you give a trainer a Gyarados that knows Crunch then the player better damn well be able to get it as well.

Try to keep fights tough but don't rely on using high levels. There are better ways to make a gym leader challenging than giving him Pokemon that are twenty, thirty something levels higher than the player is expected to have.

Make landscape easy to navigate, one of the most powerful tools Pokemon has over other games is how simple it is to travel to everywhere. Don't make a flash maze out of Viridian forest like in Touhoumon insane.

Have a clear goal in mind from the start. What kind of hack do you want it to be? A challenge, a catch em all, experimental, a little bit of all of the above? Write it down and make sure to stick to your idea(s).

Remember you don't have to make them all teachable for your hack to be good. Take a look at Yet Another Fire Red Hack. It only has 151 Pokemon in it, but it has Pokemon from every generation in it. Don't feel limited by that fact, just make sure to try and balance the roster you do use out.

Keep variety in how teams can be raised. Don't put your normal rodent type in eight routes, don't be afraid to throw a few different types in every route, just try to make it synergize. I.E. No Mantine in the grass on route 4.

Make sure your players actually have some idea of what to do and where to go (not that you need to handhold, but some way to find out where the Gyms are at least, or an NPC that can tell you where the plot script it, because too man hacks expect you to be omniscient).

Don't overload the hack with Legendaries, nor with a million rivals.

Give your villainous team an actual reason for doing what they're doing. Even if it's just simple like Team Rocket doing things to make money, don't have them just be evil because they're evil. To give an example from the hack I'm playing, Luminous Cenaries are trying to bring sunlight tot he world, just because. There's no reason or explanation as to WHY they'd want to do that, they're just doing it because they like sunlight I guess.

I stated this already but I have to state it again, don't assume the players are omniscient when it comes to plot. If you're being visited by a Legendary, for example, let the player know why they're being visited; not immediately necessarily, but don't give the players some big vision with a special route and all, and then never explain to them why or what happened.

I have no idea what type Kevin's Gym is. It's monotype, but I don't know which because EVERY Pokémon is Water/Ice. In fact every one of the 8 trainers there only use the Spheal line except for one who uses one Lapras. Even Kevin just uses Spheal/Sealeo/Walrein.

Also, the rooms are unchanged in neither theme nor AI. The accuracy room does not have a single Pokémon with a single move below 100% accuracy, for example.

Anyway I get the Crystal Badge and I guess I can go to the fourth island now. Hopefully I'll stay there since I've been to all the towns in the first three islands and gotten all the Gyms there and because I'll throw something out the window if I have to run around all four islands like a chicken with its head cut off trying to figure out where the hack wants me to go, again.

Some towns will have Shards for sale, typically if they have a wild spawn near them
that holds one.

In addition to these, there is a Support Shard on Route 119, a Defense Shard in
Fiery Path, and a Tech Shard in the Abandoned Ship. There is also a set of NPCs east
of Lilycove that will trade you evolutionary stones if you bring them Red UFOs.

He forgot to update the Readme, but I think you can buy Chrome shards at Lilycove.

Got back to this, it's completely unchanged until you get to the generator and you see they added a Raikou.

You talk to it, it growls, and disappears. If you walk offscreen and walk back, the Raikou is there again, and the same thing happens if you talk to it. I'm not sure if this is a bug or just the hacker's tendency to have vague Legendaries that do and say nothing.

The hack has actually started to tell me where I'm meant to go several times in a row. I guess Jagold realized he was doing horribly at that aspect of the game halfway through.

So one step forward.

Then I, without trying, found a cave that you can enter the wrong way and not activate the script. I went the right way around and then it activated, and I found out Edgerival and Nicerival seem to both have amnesia from hanging out with Shadow Lugia (who's named Luigi I guess)?

They say they found a second Shadow Lugia and I was riding on it. I destroyed half the world before they defeated me and brought hope back to the world. Except it wasn't me, it was "me in this world" which makes me think I sequence broke and was meant to have time travelled according to the plot.

They asked Palkia to send me to "this world" and apparently Lugia gave birth and I need the offspring to save the world from me?

They give me "Baby Lugia" and I go to the TIME HOLE. I meet Palkia for half a second who says nothing to me and then disappears, and then there's a Pokécenter in the middle of nowhere (this is literally as coherent as the game is right now, I'm not just poorly wording it it's literally in the void of space). I go to my PC there, and I actually do have Baby Lugia, with Confusion/Calm Mind/Water Gun.

Well if you've gotten the gist of this hack's pacing, you know it all goes back to normal immediately like nothing happened, though I do have Baby Lugia. Put an Exp. Share on it just to see if anything good comes from it.

I arrived at Downpour Town, and I found out that the Gym Leader is about to retire and two apprentices are fighting over the position. I get to the Leader, she's about to battle me, then the two trainers double team me trying to prove that they can beat me, so I have to do three battles in a row. Shame it's not a double battle, that would've been interesting, but it's a Ruby hack, not an Emerald hack, so I guess that can't as easily be done. As is it's still better than every Gym Leader before being "I'm awesome, you can't beat me! Oh no you beat me, you're the best!"

I had gotten down o 3HP with Lucario so I was sweeping everything in sight, but unfortunately the Gym Leader healed me before the battle with her so that momentum was lost. Boosted up to maximum attack and cleaned house anyway.

Her sprite was a bad May edit, much worse than the bad Brendon edit. Got the Marine Badge and Water Pulse and hopefully the island is linear enough that I don't have to try hard to figure out where to go.

To get to the next town you have to go through a looooong cave named "UnownCave." It's literally a just really fucking long straight line. After that you go through another long route with like 50 trainers (and no way to recover your health without items unless you want to go through that long-ass cave again). After that you get to Mt. This is the most retarded the game's been yet.

Rather than, you know, exploring Johto, you go south of Cherrygrove to a unique cave with a maze. If you can get through this maze (if you keep going down the down ladders you eventually loop around), you meet a penis monster as shown in pic. He calls you the chosen one and sends you to fight Edg Edge and Edgy, who has a Pidgeot, a Lucario, and an overleveled Dark Lugia. I barely beat it by buffing up to max Attack at the start of the battle and being beat up badly enough for Reversal to do good damage (Dark Lugia being Dark/Flying helped a lot too), and then THIS.

THIS.

WHAT THE FUCK.

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.

And if you fucking lose, which fortunately I made a state, it sends you back to the Fortree clone! This isn't an obvious loss battle, you're actually SUPPOSED TO WIN THIS.

I'm just going to spam save states to try to nail it with a lucky Ultra Ball so I can see what its fucking stats are because JESUS.

So, played for a bit after, and it's a series of RSE copies after each other. Fight your rival at the Dept. Store, fail to stop Mt. Pyre (which, Royal Darkness is still pretending to be good guys, attacking us and then going "oh we were just here to stop Luminous Cenaries, they stole the Orb!" which to be fair they did), go to the Cenaries Base to be slightly too late there, and then I have to go to "the depths of Kanto."

Been a bit dormant lately. Had picked up Pokemon Glazed for whatever reason and carved through most of it, only just beating the second region's (Johto) champion, who is the 'generic female' from Pokemon Crystal.

Despite being in the mid-80s while the entire of Johto never got past 67, I was STILL overleveled and managed to make short work of the E4, with the EV trained Gyarados I made serving a lot of use.

After I wrap up this, I have a couple options
>finish dark rising 2 via grinding arceus to 100 and using the massively OP Judgement to instagib the E4 and Darugis inc. the 230 wraith
>finish up Resolute which takes a while because it's dragging on for no discernable reason
>start up Pokemon Gaia, as via request

So I fight against Blaine, who for some reason has a remake of his Johto sprite instead of his FR/LG sprite which means Jagold KNOWS Cinnabar burned down and he's purposefully ignoring it, but I digress. I beat him pretty easily, and he tells me he can't give me a badge because I'm not from Kanto.

Now, when Brown had a bonus fight against Bugsy, Bugsy at least gave you a rare Pokémon. Blaine just says "YOU'RE WINNER" and you leave.

North of Cinnabar is blocked off, east of Cinnabar gives you Seafoam Islands.

Oh wait it's not Seafoam Islands it's ThunderIsle. I have no idea why they included a speshul snowflake area when a normal area already existed.

ThunderIsle has nothing in it but Zapdos. You walk up to it, it growls, and disappears just like EVERY OTHER FUCKING LEGENDARY IN THIS GAME. There's also a FireIsle and an IceIsle, where the other two birds do the same thing. There's nothing else east or south of Cinnabar besides some Dive spots, so I guess I need the 7th badge before I come back.

Now here's where things got stupid. The path to the 7th badge was blocked by a cop warning you about the villains, but the villains had already escaped to Kanto. I did absolutely nothing against the villains over in Cinnabar, the only thing I did was fight Blaine. So, unless Blaine was secretly a member of Luminous Cenaries, the game outright lies to you.

So we get to Alpha Isle, and the first thing we find is some old man standing in front of the door way, says he's going to defeat me "for Arceus" and loses in two seconds flat when his sole 78 Lucario gets OHKO'd by Gyara's EQ.

Just about every Drayano hack is good.
Yet Another Fire Red Hack is up there as well.
Pokemon Brown is great, especially if you like Gen 1 Hacks.
Everything else I can think of varies when it comes to the quality in all aspects.

actually, not done. We beat him again on his Round 2 mode, which is exact same but level 100s across the board. Typhlosion wasn't able to keep standing the entire match but Gyarados more than made up for it.

Took a break but going at it full force now. Hopefully I'll beat it by the end of the night, if not tomorrow.

Then only two more, possibly even worse games in the series to play.

7th Gym Leader is a Sabrina recolor that I'm not sure whether it's trying to be edgy or not. She had a Gardevoir/Gallade combo that actually almost wiped my party out since I was just solo-ing the game with Furbait so far and they both resisted Reversal.

I win, and get certification that I'm mental; with the unexplained shit in this hack I can see that being plausible for my character.

Also I found Ash again and he rambled and then said "Hey you want Dive?" and he gave me Dive. One Gym left to go.

Okay, so, the path to the Sootopolis clone is exactly the same as in RSE so I'm not even going to go over that.

Apparently Royal Darkness ARE good guys even though they constantly attacked me throughout the game.

Entei was blocking my path and I battled it; after save scumming a thousand or so Ultra Ball tosses, I just killed it.

Get to Sootopolis clone (they didn't even change the layout), Ash and my brother are hanging around, I go into the cave, catch Groudon.

I leave the cave, and THEN the cutscene involving Ash and my brother plays with their invisible sprites. That's a common thing, easily avoidable scripts.

Going to the 8th Gym now.

Baby Lugia evolved into Lugia during Victory Road, neat.

Victory Road was unchanged, though Wally's team has a Gallade instead of a Gardevoir, that's a nice touch.

I'm ready to go through the doors to the Elite Four when my goddamn Pokénav starts ringing telling me about Shadow Lugia. Fortunately, they give me the MERCY of not teleporting me without a chance to heal or anything to go fight another superboss, not yet at least.

Okay, so the E4 consist of:

And, as we all knew it would be, the Champion is Ash.

So basically his Sinnoh team fully evolved with auradoge. Really shows how long ago it was made.

Ash offered no challenge whatsoever since I got off a SD, Torterra brought me down to red, and then Reversal OHKO'd his whole team without a fight.

Well, we've beaten the Champion, only thing to do now (I think) is to capture Dark Lugia before I move onto the next game in the series.

I one-shot Dark Lugia with a Master Ball and then the plot just ENDS. Jagold's OC tells you how you "freed" him and the other Legendaries which are now scattered around (I sure as hell aren't going to search for them), and then you get teleported back to Vermillion, and that's fucking IT. There are so many random events that happened in this game that have never been explained, the BIGGEST one being why Edgelord was an omnicidal maniac the one time I was sent to the future, which was NEVER spoken of again. I don't know if I stepped past a script that was going to explain it (because it's really easy to do that, I did it 3-4 times throughout the game that I know of), or Jagold just completely forgot about it.

No closure, no tying up loose ends, nothing. That's just how Jagold thought it should end.

That's Ruby Destiny: Reign of Legends for you. I don't recommend it even for cringe material; while it has its huge spikes of horrible cringe, between those spikes it flatlines into dull, long routes where all you might see are a bad sprite job or two.

Going to find and start the second hack of the trilogy tomorrow. Congrats to CITF for making it all the way through Glazed.

Good questions. Haven't tried entering another file (the program does come with a sample file which allegedly works) but I tried using it in the Pallet Town location and it crashes.

I think it replaces the Sun or the Moon stone, but I'm not entirely sure. The nice thing about Attack Minoriko is that she's hit neutrally by Fire, so she can use Sunny Day/Chlorophyll/Solar Beam without worrying as much about surprise fire moves, but I've not personally used her before.

So my Mom yells at me for wearing such a retarded costume, my friends make fun of me (Jagold is apparently one of my friends, he doesn't look Satanic anymore), at this point I thought it might be a Deviantart simulator, but then I feel funny and suddenly am teleported to some woods.

I meet a Torchic and a Chikorita, and find out that, GASP, I'm a real Pokémon!

The dialogue at points is ripped seemingly word-for-word from the Go-Getters Mystery Dungeon special, and Chikorita's rescue team is actually fucking named Go-Getters. Mmmmchu joins them and now I guess we're looking for a Caterpie. This is going to be a long game.

It's hard to keep a balanced team. I have 2 physical soldiers, one sp assasin and one wall and I want to get a tenshi, which shares type with my wall and is more of a phys soldier than a phys assassin, as what I need. also, both orange and reimu are dream. oh agony, i guess i'll drop orange for now. and I'll give my tenshi ev training in speed. Rash nature isn't for puppets that stay long on the field anyway.

So, like the "dungeons" from Reign of Legends, we have a healing object every single room, removing any need to conserve supplies. It's a healing plant now, I guess healing stones aren't hip anymore.

We get to Caterpie, we talk about how we're gonna rescue the shit out of him, then a Manectric runs up and captures him.

When we chase him down, we find out that he's part of "Team Meanies," in quotation marks because two-thirds of the actual Team Meanies now have edgier replacements. Oh, and they're all at Lv. 5, which is completey plausible.

We beat them, they laugh, then run, and I think I've figured out what my partners' one-note personalities are. Chikorita is the happy-go-lucky, high-pitched squealing girl of the group, and Torchic is the no-nonsense tough guy of the group, and I don't expect any development from either of them at any point.

We take Caterpie back to "Pokémon Square." and I wake up at my home that I guess they just had lying around, and I guess the home they had lying arround just HAPPENED to be shaped like a Pikachu.

Also, Pikachu is genderless in this game. I guess that's so your character's gender doesn't clash with the gender you have in your stats, but characters already refer to me as "he" despite me picking the girl so that seems moot.

Aie, can't play this for long today. My Sm4sh pre-order came in the mail and I got sidetracked by that, but I'm back.

Chikorita tells me how we have been officially recognized and gives me my "Rookie Badge," which I guess is how they're spreading badges, as promotions.

I go to the guild, led by a Gardevoir, and i'm told to investigate some boulders blocking a path as my next mission.

One thing I notice is that the custom spritework in this game actually isn't that bad so far for the most part, and Jagold takes logic into account with things like the clock being a sundial, and the merchant only having Berries. I feel like more effort was put into this hack so far than the last. The problem is the writing so far has been just terrible, worse than the last.

Especially the attempted banter between my two teammates. It always consists of

>Chikorita goes "I'm just doing [x]."
>Torchic calls her annoying
>Chikorita continues doing the annoying thing
>occasionally Mmmmchu says "Sheesh" in response

So we go through another generic forest with no challenge due to being able to heal every five feet, at one point Chikorita says "hey we should give you this dozen items we brought" which included an HM, and at one point I needed to teach that HM to Chikorita to cut a tree.

At one point the stairs didn't disappear like they normally do, but Jagold put a roadblock there anyway. Why leave the stairs then?

We get to a dead end, I'm told the mountains themselves have shifted, I sperg out about the possibility of having to fight Groudon (I have non non-Electric-type moves so it's justified). Then Regirock appears screaming at us, and my partners are all "we have to fight him." Mmmmchu mentions actually talking to him and is brushed off, and we battle.

As you can see, there's no trainer sprite here for whatever reason; they could've at least made Regirock the trainer and Pokémon like my party and Team Edgies.

Beat him, and suddenly he has amnesia. Our party pressures him, failed attempts at comic relief are made not even worth typing up, we ask him not to fuck with the mountains and he goes "sure why not I don't remember doing it in the first place" and I wake up in my home again.
