I'm scared of playing online.

I play on showdown and have no problem breeding anything I want, but I'm still nervous. How good are people on battle spot compared to showdown? Is there a lot of smogon or legends?

Haven't bothered to play cartridge games yet. I can't find anywhere to test real teams (Showdown is worst test environment, why the fuck don't they have a "Cartridge" tier that's between Ubers and OU?)

So before I waste a week breeding a team that performs like shit when I test it, I'd like to know what kinda stuff happens there myself.

Then again, I don't even know the cartridge rules, so... Does that make me a smogonfag?

Why don't you actually contribute to the thread?

OP, the problem with Showdown is that it's full of smogonfags like this guy and use basically only Smogon and Legendaries and won't listen to anything else.

Probably worse, unless you grind on the Rated ladder until you're reasonably high up. Unrated or low ladder is going to be full of shitters.

Just don't be that guy who plays unrated and complains about legendaries in a format where they're allowed.

Any/all box legends, probably hacked. Xerneas/Yveltal/Mewtwo is going to be especially common though. More than likely it'll be some 9 year old using them.

Honestly, you're better off just playing rated. If you're not that good you'll end up lower on the ladder against other people who aren't taking it super seriously and won't have to deal with legends or smogonmons all that often.

On rated though, you do need to beware of Japanese players using evasion hax and other annoying strategies.

But yes, your entire team is 2HKO'd (if not then 1HKO'd) by Sharp Beak Talonflame apart from Gliscor who is 3HKO'd after Poison Heal and has no effective way of dealing with Talonflame itself. If you run Bulky DD on Zard then you should be able to take one Brave Bird and respond with Dragon Claw. Breloom could also Rock Tomb or Spore after Sash be beware of the small percentage of Talonflames that run Sleep Talk. Azumarill can also bulk a Brave Bird and respond with Water STAB but why the fuck would any Talonflame just charge into Azumarill like that?

I suggest replacing Sableye with a more effective wall, like Rotom-W. Look out for Grass type Natural Gift though.

I used a Guts Harriyama with Fake Out back in Gen 4 with Bronzong setting up TR.
Now I start with Cofagrigus holding Mental Herb and Scrafty holding Persim Berry. Scrafty uses Fake Out and Cof. sets up TR. Turn two Cof. uses Swagger on Scrafty, the confusion is cured, and Scrafty abuses Moxie with Crunch, Drain Punch, and Rock Slide.

Nips in double battles are from my experience the best battlers to practice with. Right now I'm using a team based around 252 Atk/ 252 SAtk Iron Ball Tyranitar and Mawile under TR. It's Garchomp/Mawile/Tyranitar/Gothitelle/Wigglytuff/Hydreigon. Also fuck Buttfag.
