Tripokalons just sound boring, they sound too normal and mundane to give a shit about. And the fact that the pokemon appeals only comes in the very end of them makes them feel weird to everything we've had. Every single person in the show has a connection with pokemon, and to see a competition that glorifies beauty and human culture in general with pokemon taking a backseat feels wrong.
