Pidgeot has okay bulk and so-so attacking stats, so I'd rather have him get 0 weaknesses than priority flying moves.

On the incredibly unlikely chance that regular mons would get Mega abilities like that at all, who would deserve them?

Ninetales and Politoed, two mediocre mons, got Drought and Drizzle, god-tier abilities.

So what level of shitmon is required to be blessed with elder god-level shit like that?

I'm talking about regular strong wind, obviously.

It has no special effect other than neutralizing weather and flying weaknesses, so I don't see why a "normal" version couldn't keep the making electric/ice/rock moves neutral on flying types as it's sole effect.

Pidgeot needs something interesting for it's mega evolution. (And a new movepool)

For some reason I see it getting Steel typing and being the special defensive version of Skarmory. Maybe even something like Overcoat or Magic Coat for its ability.

Honestly I REALLY like Pidgeot but it's horrendously outclassed.

I should have mentioned the "Steel" typing would not go with that design I posted. I just thought it works a theoretical design in general.

Fighting/Flying sounds more like Staraptor's route.

Also, Ubers is not a word that Smogon invented. Gamefreak, although gives no name, strictly forbiddens box legends with the higer BST on most of their tournaments... Hence, that's Ubers for them.

It has inferior Special bulk than Noctowl.

It's literally outclassed by every other bird. I get it that's fun to use and whatnot, but the same can be said about Farfetch which has far more interesting movepool and even a signature item.

Same thing with Blastoise and pretty much every gen 1 Pokemon. Imagine how bad the Zards would be if they had regular abilities, like Solar Power (Y)and Flame Body (X), but everything else the same.

Hell, imagine how GOOD blastoise would be... If Mega Launcher boosted Ice Beam and Hydro Pump. And Flash cannon.

How to fix Pidgeot:
Give it a mega with fucking compoundeyes (call it Eaglevision) and at least +40 sp. attack, +30 defenses, +20 speed (mach 2 bird afterall)

I see your point but it's very different. the new abilities are entrenched in lore; the trio has them at a time period where they are harvesting all of the wild and unbound energy of the natural world. the abilities represent that time period and the influence that these three pokemon SPECIFICALLY had on the creation of hoenn. It doesn't fit in with any other pokemon.
